Anyone else throwing a Derby party? Mrs. Vedder and I throw one every year (we lived in Kentucky for 4 years, so we picked up the habit there). Always a lot of fun.

Today's Menu:
Chile Verde
Shrimp w/ homemade cocktail sauce
Sandwiches with Benedictine spread
Bourbon Balls
Derby Pie (bourbon, chocolate, pecan pie)
fruit and vegetable trays
salad
fresh bread

Mint Juleps made w/ fresh mint from our backyard
Arnold Palmers (and probably a few John Daly's as well)
assorted beer

We are attending one for the second year in a row. They were pretty lite on the food last year as I only remember cheeses and a chocolate fountain, but the drinks were very good. In addition to the beer, wine, and mint juleps, I heard the host will be serving sazeracs this year.

It was alot of fun making up all of the betting games and such.
