Why doesn't LSU play Louisiana Tech in baseball?

I can't remember the last time LSU played them in baseball. LSU plays every other state school with a Div. 1 program regularly. Tech has a decent team and they play Baylor, Minnesota (who were both at the LSU regional last year), Texas, and Arkansas this year. Seems like it would be a good matchup. Anyone know why?

I don't think LSU thinks it can win that one so they don't put Tech on the schedule.

Yeah, Simoneaux was part of the dustup back in 2002 before he took the La Tech job.

Bad blood lingers.

I'm sure they will play them at some point, if he ever leaves

weve played tech 58 times, the last time in 1998

the story i always heard was tech were acting like jackasses during the game so bertman said we wouldnt play them anymore

the weirder stat was last season was the first time weve ever played grambling

Plus with a shorter season length, LSU is asking in state teams for 3 games at LSU in return for 1 return visit to their place. Tech may not agree to those terms.

simoneaux was the ULL coach that acted like an arse, said no one can "stare" down his team- heard it on the radio after the lsu-ull game

cost him the slu job

hope they - "latech" has a lot of money- as the travel all over the country playing games - and do not play lsu, ulm, ull, tulane slu, southern and the close teams in arkansas-

LSU has nothing to gain by playing La Tech. plenty of the other state schools will gladly come to the Box under LSU's terms.

Are you referring to the 2002 sub regional and the Aaron Hill "bat throwing" incident?

yes - but hill did not throw a bat - it came out of his hands and went toward the ull doug out- the ump thru him out of the game to gain control of the situation
it was determined that he had to sit out the championship game because of the incident
the ump said that if he knew that, he would not have put him out
the whole deal of this regional was that ull had a good team , but said that they did not have the pitching depth to beat LSU & hoped to win without going into the double elimantion final
they won the first game with us and we beat tulane & southern to get back to the final, when we had to beat them twice & we did it, they had been to the cws the year before also and had a fight w/ clemson- i think - was not their fault
simoneaux has had some fights up @ tech & this is not the standard for college baseball
he is playing a game against lsu-shreveport, but only plays mcnesse & gambling of all the instate schools- which in my opinion- the instate schools - will not play him

Was that him? I couldn't recall that guys name.

I do recall that during the game he acted more like a 18 year old than a coach.

Talk bout a coaching staff that didn't seem to understand how your handle a stare into the dugout.

Then, I understand the lack of games between the two teams of late.

As far as Tech playing other state schools they did play ULM every year till the infamous Dooley statement. Have also played just about every other instate school in the state outside of Tulane and LSU since he has been the head coach. Also central arkansas and arkansas in ruston.I think there was some bad blood between simoneaux and skip plus, simoneaux has a policy of not playing teams unless they will return the trip to tech.
