He apparently is having an amazing spring and is understanding the playbook and the offense better than he did last year.

Any thoughts?

You must be reading DD. Haven't seen it anywhere else.

I've heard it said by many that as a QB, the most improvement is made during your 2nd full slate of spring practices.

Our Oline last year apparently had a great spring and fall. It made our coach proclaim it was the best he ever had.

Think I'll wait to see how it unfolds during the season.

I hope this is ture, but its no secret DD has been a tad biased towards JJ since he has been here.
so I think Ill wait and make that conclusion myself.
Im going to scrimmmage next sat and spring game, so as I said wait and see for myself.

I'm glad that he's progressing. We will need him to be on top of his game if we are to make a run for the championship this year. I hope that he continues to shine and if he does well, he be rewarded eventually by the NFL gods.

It's A LOT easier to look good in the "No Pressure" atmosphere of practice. Let's see what happens when the lights come on and he's got S.E.C. defensive lineman/LB's in his face. Didn't JL always look great at practice? I want to see JJ look "Amazing" in S.E.C. games......

Hopefully, they have worked with him on a timer. Just fixing that would go a long way.

could be true, but must be taken with a grain of salt...could be the typically rah rah stuff to excite the fan base...I am sure he will be improved...hopefully the new Passing Game Coordinator is paying dividends.

I love JJ and will support him until the end but the kid needs (2) things:

1) Leadership
2) Chemistry with wideouts

He's never had that determined presence that he is going to take the team on his back. March the ball downfield 80 yards with the game on the line in the last minute and dominate an opponent.

He is definitely more of a managing type QB but he needs to step up this year and lead.

'extreme ambivalence' comes to mind. we've heard this song before and until JJ harnesses his potential and starts to consistently make plays he will remain an unknown factor.

spring drills are not = to game or SEC speed.

We have to give props to Dandy Don, who predicted JJ would not be ready for prime time until junior year, but then DD thought Ryan Perilloux would be starting those last two seasons.

My thoughts are this should be expected. He is another year older with a full season under his belt and another off season with the playbook. If he doesn't know it better this year, he won't ever.

We hear the same thing every year. Talk is cheap.

Hell, for that matter, Jarrett Lee looks to be having a good spring as well.

Same thing is said every spring. Just show up and go to work, no more talk.
