Tiger Band Question

Can someone please explain to me the love affair that our band has with the Bon Jovi hit "Livin on a Prayer". It's almost 25 years old and it makes no sense to me why we play it every football and basketball game. Wouldn't Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" make more sense.
I'm not trying to be an a-hole. Someone please explain it to me.
What current pop song do you see our band playing 25 years from now?

The crowd sounds good singing it
But I hate that we sing, "it doesn't even matter if we make it or not." that kind of pisses me off

For most of the past 25 years the teams have been living on a prayer

yeah obviously no one cares if we win because that line is sung.

I got dragged to a bon jovi concert and it was actually awesome. I ended up singing that song like a super-fan.
There's something to it. I'm glad LSU has tapped into the fun of singing that song.
When people sing Journey is more of tongue-in-cheek sarcastic way.

sorta like neck
nothing gets me pumped like seeing a middle to older aged fatass bouncing up and down with his arm to neck.

Nothing like being backstage at a Bonjovi concert.

Bc it is a freakin classic and the band plays it great. It also is one of my personal favorites bc I drained 6 3's in the 4th quarter during a furious comeback in middle school in 8th grade, while this song was stuck in my head. But.....we still lost.

As some have said, the band also plays Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'". You're reading way too much into it.

I think the band, or at least the tuba's and drumline should play the beginning of Ying Yang Twins - Halftime. Don't over play it, but maybe once a game?

ha thank ya
I think "do what ya wanna" was more of a pep band song..it might be too loud in ts to hear the solos but who knows? Ya may see it

Everybody likes to sing it.
Well, I like to sing Home on the Range, but don't wanna hear it at TS.

Tiger Band always has a few "Signature" songs that's played year in and year out. We did back in the 70's/80's too. It's a TB tradition.
BTW, what's the latest on Linda and Roy. Are they both coming back next year? Will any of the BS "Cuts" be made this season?......
