What do you guys think of the quality of Albertson's beef? They have bone-in ribeyes for $3.77/lb right now.

I would not buy anything from there...as soon as you walk in the smell of rotten meat/seafood is overwhelming

Albertsons has to be the most disgusting major food chain out there.
You are right--the stench in the seafood dept. is foul. Smells like a dumpster.

i go to the albertsons on george o'neal and i've never smelled anything nasty there their meat is always pretty and red, and i buy salmon from there and its always good. i know one of the butchers there and he eats their meat so i'm not scared of eating it

they don't use the USDA grading system (select, choice) They use supreme or some shite that I don't trust. Only thing I'll buy from there is skirt steaks, which are hard to find other places

the one on bluebonnet has solid steaks, i refuse to go to the one on college. it smells like shite

I buy their filets when they are on sale and they have always been excellent.

i don't buy any beef that isn't choice. albertson's is select beef. winn-dixie has bone-in ribeyes at $5.99lb. much better quality.

Yea, I usually go to Winn Dixie but just wanted to get some opinions on Albertsons due to the good price.

I was just about to say this.
Why does EVERY Ablbertson's smell like rotten seafood? Not just 1 location, all of them.

cuz their seafood is rotten

I think it has more to do with the lack of cleanliness in regard to their display cases than anything else. Either that, or it's not being kept cold enough, and if you don't see ice in there, there's probably a good case for not buying seafood there. JMO.

All seafood markets in all grocery stores smell bad.
I go to the Albertson's on Highland and Airline and buy meat and have never had a problem. I buy meat all over town. It's about what looks good at the time. That location gets the John Morrell frenched pork loin racks which a I cook all the time whole. These are great.

Tell you who has the best smelling and cleanest seafood shop in town though, and that's the Louisiana Cajun Seafood place off Coursey, or at the times I've been in there.

If you buy salmon at Albertson's and you think it's good.. You might need to learn what real salmon is and what it's supposed to taste like.

i go to the albertsons on george o'neal
I will only buy ground meat beef from Albertsons becasue the few times I have bought steaks they were like shoe leather and flavorless.
