Jefferson had a better Qb rating than Russell his Sophomore year, more TD's, Less INT's, and a better Completion PCT, and a longer pass on the season, and only around 300 less yards. But somehow you jack asses on the rant think he's not an SEC caliber QB? Seriously I don't know what the frick you guys are smoking. If you think JJ isnt the right guy based on this season you're a fricking moron plain and simple.

So what is your point? Didn't we all already know that this board is infested with a bunch of jack asses. The offensive line may have been the worst in LSU history. Which meant no running game. JJ has a lot to learn but I think he is still 19 yrs. old but these rantards can't handle the truth. I hate to tell you but you are throwing your bucket down a dry well.

Jefferson has nowhere near the potential that Russell had. Jefferson will be the guy going into the spring, and there is a 95% chance he will start on opening day, but he is average at best.

all of last year i kept waiting for the breakout game but it never happened. maybe the offense never took off because it was dumbed down to fit the qb.

i dont agree that jj is or will be better than jr, but if he is not starting next year i expect some more coaching changes. I dont think garrett or anyone else we bring in is good enough that they will improve our offense as a first year starter. these guys really are not the same level as mallet, gilbert, barkley, or a matt stafford(started as a sophomore i believe). Neither of those guys were stellar in their first starts.

I'm annoyed and disappointed at his inability to protect the quarterback.

We tolerated that from Russell because his ceiling wasn't the height of a midgets house.

Jefferson was not the problem this year. He's among the better QBs in the SEC. The problem was the O Line. Fix the O line and all of a sudden, everything will start looking P&G again including the coaching.

The opinion about JJ is only shared by a select few,.....probably some Lee supporters...JJ will be ok,...just don't listen to the negatigers...

JJ is our starter. He's just a bit slow recognizing defenses and finding secondary receivers. We'll find out this year IF things start slowing down for him. If not, we'll probably have to start over with Garrett and groom Zach Lee behind him. Until then, nobody needs to blow a gasket, people. This is how we have to play the hand we've been dealt.

In a sense you're comparing apples to oranges. Two very different offensive philosophies when comparing Jimbo '05 to GC '09. Jimbo was fascinated with the rocket arm and potential of JR and often called on him to make very difficult throws. And JR was quick to oblige due to his immense ego. The result was a few more int's than he should have had but also a lot more incompletions than he'd have had with more conservative play-calling. JR avoided pressure and threw the ball away more effectively as a sophomore than JJ did. Far that matter, Flynn was a bit more polished as a sophomore than JJ but he and JR had the benefit of a whole season in '03 watching the effective Matt Mauck. JJ did show great mobility but he must learn to use that mobility not only to rush the ball but to buy time in the pocket. I will not say that JJ can't work himself up to be a 1st round draft choice because April 2012 is a ways off, however he needs to make that quantum leap forward this year that JR made as a Jr. to get close to that path.

Do NOT bring logic and reason onto this website.

You will be ostracized by the uneducated dregs of this crappy fanbase.

JR led LSU to the SECCG with an 11-1 record his soph yr.

I have a hard time seeing JJ ever leading LSU to the SECCG.

people love to drink the jamarcus kool aid. he has a nice 6 game stretch in 06 and everybody got erect over his arm strength. fumbled on the 1 at gainesville. IMO that cost us the game. we wouldve been up 14-0 at fla. wet the bed on the final drive against auburn during the ref gate game in 07. took a sack w/o any t.o.'s left. continuously threw into dbl and trpl coverages. his only legacy was the 05 bama o.t. and the 06 tenn final drive. I know most of us couldn't stand Jimbo, but after what I saw Crowton do this year, I gotta hand it to him, Jimbo did not run an insane offense with dozens of formations and different players causing mass confusion all the time.

I seriously think if Jefferson played under Fisher, he would be a lot better and wouldn't be nowhere near so heavily criticized.

Crowton and Miles deserve the blame for the lack of offense, not Jefferson. If you ask me, I think Jefferson did a pretty good job considering we had no running game and a weak OL.

perception. russel played with a better defense against a lower level of talent in the sec. we lost 2 games that year, lost 4 this year.

j lee threw 16 interceptions in his freshman year, lost 5 games, he's the "worst qb" these ranters have ever seen.

Matt Mauck, threw 14 pics as a 5th year senior, but lost only one game with a nc.

all about perception.
