IF THE SAINTS WERE SUPPORTED BY ONLY NEW ORLEANS RESIDENTS THEY WOULD HAD TO MOVE YEARS AGO

the people next to me in my section are from Morgan City, below are from Lafayette and on the left side Biloxi. Metairie couple two down from me. It certainly reaches out past new orleans, but I don't think they should ever change the name.

Being from New Orleans, I have no problem with changing the name of the Minor League Baseball team to the Louisiana Zephyrs.

Is that an ok compromise?

My how times have changed. When I lived in BR I used to get a kick out of how some people even the sports broadcasters up there would take shots at the Saints and make it a point that the "pathetic Saints" were New Orleans' team and "we" have LSU up here (Baton Rouge).

the bandwagon is full

I'm from North Louisiana, Oak Grove, to be exact, and I for one, would welcome the new name. All these, bs'ers, saying that we have not supported the Saints can go take a dump on themselves!! I have been a die-hard fan, since my conception, so frick you all saying the northern La. fans don't support OUR team.

Sure there are a few, dick-heads up here, as there are everywhere, but believe me, there are far more Saints' fans here than any other team.

I think the name change would be nothing but positive for our team and state. You all south of Alec, have no idea of the true and real, passion of us fans have for the SAINTS!! GEAUX LOUISIANA SAINTS!! Through Thick and Thin

So they struck a compromise, and that's when the Louisiana patch started showing up on the uniforms.

I went to LSU and worked in BR for two years after I graduated. I'm sticking by my statement that was the mentality of a lot of people in BR when I lived there. There's a lot of anti-New Orleans / 2nd city syndrome cases up there. There are more die-hard Saints fans in frikin' MS than in Baton Rouge.

I'm not saying the saints are only New Orleans' team. The Saints are Louisiana's team, but the change in the attitude from the BR area is hilarious. And I'll repeat...It's not everyone from BR...understand

Like how the Phoenix Cardinals are now the Arizona Cardinals. How would you feel about that?

NFL franchises are to be named after cities.

Hell why should Shreveport get to enjoy in the name of an NFL team, they have been Cowboy country for as long as can be.

New Orleans earned the right to lead the charge in the Superbowl celebrations.

Gulf Coast Saints would be better than Louisiana Saints. Half of North La. roots for the Cowboys, so frick 'em.
