Because the game's still another week away. What are we supposed to talk about, the ProBowl?

With the 32nd pick the Saints choose...

Maybe it is just me, but this seems unrealistic. There is to much paritiy in the NFL. How many teams have made the playoffs five years in a row? I would say not many. Teams may go on a strong run and then before you know it they fall apart.

I could see us making another NFC title game giving us a shot...that's all you can really ask for.... remember the steelers didnt make the playoffs this year

I honestly thing we fare well in the future... We don't really have a single one thing we dominate thus making it harder for other teams to shut down everything that we can do

2008 - Cardinals
2007 - Giants
2006 - Bears
2005 - Seahawks
2004 - Eagles
2003- Panthers
2002 - Bucs
2001 - Rams

Notice that the only team that has had the same quarterback over decade is the eagles with mcnabb...and they made the nfc championship 5 times. so with bress>>>>mcnabb, i would say we make the nfc chamionship several more times. Its all about having a great QB (with the exception of the bears), and our defense is just going to get better over the next few years.

It took 42 years to get here...i'm not counting on shite! I would speculate they can compete over the next 5 years and have a shot at it...but history is not on their side.

We have the potential to become the new "dynasty" of the NFL. If we keep drafting wisely and making key FA aquisitions, there is no reason to think we can't be SB contenders as long as Brees is in his prime. It's a crapshoot in the NFL and can almost certainly go the other way as well.

I agree this can be potentially the start of an impressive run for the saints. The only problem I see is next year being an uncapped year and the top 4 teams can't sign free agents unless they lose someone to free agency. That is huge because we can only rely on the draft to fill weakness, and as we saw with Meachum and Jenkins, sometimes it takes a couple of years to get used to the NFL.

also shows how hard it is to get back without a truly great team

2008 - Cardinals
2007 - Giants
2006 - Bears
2005 - Seahawks
2004 - Eagles
2003- Panthers
2002 - Bucs
2001 - Rams

those haven't been great teams by any stretch of the imagination

the NFC sets up VERY favorably.

Warner is done.

Favre might be done.

McNabb is getting old.

Rogers is an injury risk with his scrambling.

The Panthers signed Delhomme to an extension last year, at least hurting them financially.

Romo is good, but Dallas is still a circus.

NYG has way too much money tied up in Eli and it is hurting them.

realistically the Saints could get back once or twice more assuming Brees stays healthy.

We were predicting a decade of dominance before the season, 10 straight super bowl wins. We retire football after and the world achieves peace through drew brees ala wyld stallions

Well we thought that in 2000 and 2006 as well.

The NFL is a strange beast.

For frick's sake.

For the umpteenth time, speculating on the future as a fan does not affect the outcome of the next game. At all.

I agree the only one you could make an argument for is maybe the Rams, because they had some great years with Kurt Warner.
