Letter from NFL at end of thread

Yeah I went to school with the girl and have a couple of shirts (she sells many shirts in Mens sizes without the FleurtyGirl logo)

All this is good for business, I hope she makes a Million.

And all of a sudden after 43 years the NFL expects lots of Saints merchandise to start moving like never before. They just want their 10% cut, and the local tshirt makers are only selling the shirts because of the product that the NFL and Saints have created. Pay the fee, raise the prices appropriately, and move on.

She asked, if she paid the fee, could she use the real logos and have the NFL sticker.
The NFL said no. Those must be made by licensed manufactures. These shirts are printed in New Orleans, New Orleanians own all stages of production. Yet the NFL only wants its name on items made in sweatshops.

She sells her shirts for $20, the NFL told her she could sell what she has as long as she pays 10%, but she can order no more "offending shirts" so it isn't that easy.

THE NFL DOESN'T WANT YOU TO MAKE SAINTS SHIRTS.

690 in NOLA was talking about Sir Saint and how they were targeting that as well. Supposedly the Sir Saint was the Falstaff logo back in the 60's and 70's.

They can't take the Fleur de Lis. It's an international symbol of France. They may be able to (actually, I know they do) have the rights to the speciffic Saints one, but they can't trademark it completely.
