Good News For Astros - Valverde Signs With Tigers

Since Valverde was a type A free agent, Astros now get the Tigers first round pick (#19 overall) and a pick inbetween the first and second rounds.
Stros are slowly but surely building their Farm System back up.
Edit:The second pick they received will be #34 overall. So the Stros have 3 picks in the first 34.

I love baseball but I hate trying to keep up with all the acquisitions... I'm just going to start cheering for numbers.

A couple of years ago I would have agreed with this, unfortunately. I think the FO finally realizes how important it is to actually sign these early pick though (At least thats what I hope).
