benefit LSU? Nick Saban has never been one to be satisfied or to except failure. Should Alabama repeat next year, how many out there think Saban would start to reconsider an NFL gig? I, for one, think it would be in his personality to feel like the accomplishments he has achieved in CFB are enough for him and that his lack of success in the NFL would drive him to that challenge again. I think he would begin to look back at the things he did and didn't do and if the right opportunity presented itself he would go. If it were a organization he felt he could be successful with, he would go. And yes, don't fool yourself, the opportunities will be there.

Saban is at UA until he is ready to retire. He may give the NFL a shot at that point as sort of a what the hell thing but I think he has decided he is better off where he is.

I think Nick's NFL itch has been scratched. He may leave Bama for a more desirable (personal level) job but he's not going back to the NFL.

No. An Alabama repeat does not benefit LSU. LSU winning football games benefits LSU. Get over your Nick Saban man-crush. He's Alabama's coach. I don't care when he leaves.

I dont think a 'repeat' would sway Saban one way or the other. Around the 4th-5th year is when his eye starts wandering and the 'new' wears off of his current gig. I look for him to be gone from Bama within 3 years. His next destination would likely be another shot at the NFL or a Penn State/ Notre Dame type job.

I cant ever see him doing a Spurrier and going to a mediocre school to just fade away into the sunset.

Seeing's how he's already done if before I'd say yeah, there's a chance he bolts again some day.

if the Carroll deal at Seattle works out. I think other teams may offer some of the top coaches in college the same deal. JIMO

I stopped here.

In no way would a repeat national championship by a team in LSU's division, led by LSU's former coach, be beneficial to LSU. In no way.

Our fanbase is retarded, in general, and this post is further evidence of our collective delusion.

How about we just beat Alabama and win our own damn title? Ever think of that?

Ever since his failure at the NFL, he has considered going back. Just waiting for a better job than the Dolphins IMO.

If they get every break and call in the book, it could happen. Stars would have to align for them next year like this year. They also loose the entire DL and 7 starters on defense, ALL RECRUITED BY SHULA!

I think LSU kicking Alabama's arse would benefit LSU myself.
