Well with all the Jarret Lee bashing J.J only won one game more than we won last year, and we had a better defense this year.We should always play the person that gives us the best chance to win Period.

better defense but worse o-line and running game

Same exact running backs as last year except they were seniors this year,Throw in R.S. too,and at the start of the season Miles said it was the best Line he's had since he got here. Our Q.B's are not option Q.B.'s so we should have scrapped that experiment from the start.J.J's throwing motion takes to long to release and he need's work on his accuracy.Plain and simple we need someone who can coach Q.B's.

this has already been proven to be one of the dumbest statments to come out of the mouth of Les Miles.. whether Miles truely believed that or he was just giving fans false hope, the play of the offensive line this season was some of the worse i've seen at LSU in a long time..

i just don't think that JJ is the qb to lead us to a championship. Man, Perilloux really fricked us good.
Really? This is fricking amazing. Get over Perilloux. If he screwed us and we didn't have a plan B...
And JJ is not our problem, he will be one of the top quarterbacks in the SEC for the next two years.

yes he can beat out JJ, but he would have to have one hell of a spring camp to do it and i seriously doubt that he will be able to overtake JJ. I think CG will be a great QB at LSU when his time comes though.

Why not? Saban/Jimbo always made it an open competition. One knock on Miles is he really has not shown that the best player regardless of seniority will see the field. This alone will keep big time prospects from wanting to come to LSU.
As for the QB position, Tommy Hodson really looked pretty good as a freshman as he lead the team to a SEC championship. I know that does not happen with freshman often, but Garrett is not a true freshman anymore.

hope not. Why would we want 3 first year starters 3 years in a row? Let JJ grow.

By the numbers, he isn't that far off now. And that's with Tebow, McElroy (sp?), and Mallett. Probably two of those three are leaving next year.

Garrett has already been here for a year, so he would not be a first year starter.

Unfortunatly for JJ the only numbers that really matter is W's and L's.

You don't understand what first year starter means

Oh I get it....so Matt Flynn was a first year starter...man I like first year starters.

But he was a fifth year senior who had thrown a pass in college, a lot more mature than a redshirt freshman.

JJ needs to improve quite a bit between now and next September, but I can't think of a single one of our losses that can be squarely placed on him. His worst performance was probably the first half of the Penn State game, and even some of that blame has to go to the dropped passes, busted up runs, and weak line.

Plenty of redshirt freshman turn out to be great QB's.
I can only hope that Garrett is the real thing and that he is given a true shot.
