how does being a freshman cause Garret to have the same problems as JJ and Lee. in fact Lee and JJ had very different problems!!

No I dont, but I'm hoping that he is because JJ will not get it done.

And how do you know that CG is better and will "get it done"?

Im tired of a QB who is afraid to throw the ball, doesnt check all of his receivers, has no pocket presence, and decides to run to quickly

How quickly you forget that JJ played behind one of the shittiest o-lines to ever suit up for LSU and one of the worst running games in the country, not to mention he plays for one of the worst OC to ever walk the face of this earth. What makes you think that CG could do any better under those circumstances , and please bring facts not what your "tired of"?

i just don't think that JJ is the qb to lead us to a championship. Man, Perilloux really fricked us good.

JJ just seems to be in the same position he was in the first game of the year. CLUELESS! i realize he has a below par OL or at least one that tends to underperform, but he himself has not improved anything in his game. but, thats what coaches are for and not sure if they know how to coach up talent.

let us hope he has used this season judiciously by watching...and learning what not to do. if he has sound mechanics, can read a defense and shows poise he will get his shots. IMHO, jj showed little improvement and was a major factor in what went down this year. this is not a bash on jj but if he hit his ceiling this season then we will need somebody ready, willing and able by game three next year.

Look and JJ stats from the first 6 games, and compare those to the last six games, do you really believe he didnt get better over the year?
and keep in mind all the bullshite he had to put up with.

No, GC and the o-line were the major reasons for what went down this year.

The LSU fans are among the worst when it comes to giving a kid a break. Jarret Lee was booed unmercifully last year and the few times he played this year. You all forgot that he threw for 261 yards in the second half alone against South Carolina last year and that he was a redshirt FRESHMAN, probably 19 or barely 20 years old at the time. This year against La. Tech. he didn't run a couple of times when he should have - maybe b'c of a lack of confidence. But the O Line's blocking was terrible in that game, and the defense stank up Tiger Stadium, too. It's no wonder he was visibly upset (as evident by his facial expressions) when he played against Tech. You also forgot that the first pass he threw this year was for ten yards on an up-the-middle screen play, and his next pass went for a TD. Texas Tech showed their discipline, consistent practice, and confidence against Michigan State as a result of a well-practised team. I wouldn't blame Jarret for trying to go to Texas Tech or Boise State, maybe TCU, where they treat their QBs with respect. Let's face it, whoever starts at QB next year for the Tigers probably won't be as good as Brett Favre or Tim Tebow.
I agree that JJ looked confused at times although he has a pretty good arm despite his throwing the ball into the mud at least six times and getting lucky on a couple of non-interceptions that Penn State players could have returned for TDs.
Overall, we were spoiled by Matt Flynn's ball-handling abilities and his smarts of knowing what to do and when.
Sometimes the coach doesn't make the right judgement call as to who should be the staring QB. Reminds us of DiNardo not playing Rohan Davey much; but after DiNardo left, his interim replacement Hal Hunter started Davey in the Arkansas game that year. We beat the heck out of Ark. - about 31 to 7. So, coaches giving a kid a chance and instilling confidence in him can have a big influence on the kid's performance.
Maybe the LSU coaches will learn some valuable lessons from this season and put some spark into next year's team. I hope so. Happy New Year to you all.

I don't remember many underclassmen and first year QB's competing for the NC. Even Tebow took a back seat to Leake the first year he played at FL.

I guess Garrett could be the one to break the mold and set the world on fire as a redshirt freshman. But if my job was on the line I'd go with the Junior with the pretty good completion percentage and middling QB rating over the never took a snap in a college game guy.

Now, if the question is whether they should decide on either Shep or Garret for the #2 spot and give them ample clean up time and maybe, in the case of Shep, a series a half or so, that's a different question.

Why is it that teams like alabama can start a freshman ob and play for the nc. if we think about starting one everyone says we can't do that noone wins with a freshman. thats bull shi-. The fact is it doesn't matter who it is . we could go get the colts from the nfl put them in lsu uniforms and les would probably pull manning and and sit half the starters because he don't have a clue what he is doing. he already sid he don't listen to the experts thats us he is talking about. he is hard headed just like the wap we had and curley. nothing will change shep will be the next trindon , he will get 3 4 plays a game nothing new and become a non factor.

another 'Bummer - Flammer' gtfo

If Hodson could play as a Freshman, with the right coaching, YES C.Garrett can play.
Did you notice the freshman R.B. for Iowa (Weger)
