You think Scott and Hester are faster than Wells? Come on.
That's not the comparison.
The comparison is an SEC LB or DB or Safety vs like a Big 10 one.
So when a QB rolls out against an SEC team, he's closed down much faster. Or it's tougher for a RB to get the edge. Not always, but most anyone who watches CFB well can tell you that SEC teams play faster.
OSU can do a lot of things against Big 10 opponenets because they're faster but it seems like they're shocked into life by teams that can match/exceed their speed. That's the point about SEC being faster. They have speed at positions that don't usually value that trait, and it makes teams who aren't used to it look really slow.

Very good points. This isn't about comparing rb speeds. Of course Beanie is faster than Hester and Chuck. I'm not sure if he's faster than Keiland though. Point is, Ohio St wasn't used to seeing speed at LB or DB like the SEC has. That obviously doesn't mean SEC teams are always better, but Ohio St wasn't used to seeing that and it hurt them.
Also makes you wonder why Ohio St lost to a mediocre USC team this. I'm not flaming or hating at all, but this could be the reason OSU lost. USC has speed at positions too.

I agree, I said as much on the first page, its about the defense, especially the DL and LB vs the OL. That was the difference in the OSU-UF NC game, not so much in the LSU-OSU game.

Antoine Winfield, Donte Whitner, Chris Gamble, Nate Clements and Shawn Springs all disagree with you.
