LL I saw it Christmas night w/ my mom. I agree with your review and my parents aren't divorced so I couldn't really relate to it from that perspective either. However I thought Meryl Streep (who I LOVE) and Alec Baldwin were a great combo. John Krasinski (Jim from The Office) was hilarious too.

I really like Meryl Streep's house in the movie!!

For those of you who saw it, did you like the ending? It wasn't what I wanted.

I just saw it earlier today and thought it was a lot better than the reviews. Ditto on Meryl, Alec and John Kransikski. The reviews said it was predictable but didn't think the ending was. I think there were hints in some things Jane/Meryl said throughout about working too hard to get to where she was that led me to believe it might not end as expected.

That's all I thought about was that her house was beautiful, her cooking looked awesome, her dishes and kitchen tools and garden were all gorgeous.

Makes me want to go decorate and stock a home.

SPOILER!!!!!!!!!! *********

And I actually did like the ending. I know nothing about divorce so I could be way off-base with this, but my mom's friend who recently went through a divorce and tried again with her ex husband said exactly what this movie said: they both did what they could to move on and once that happens, you can't go back. Even though it would have been nice to see a happy ending with them, I think the writers did a good job keeping it realistic.

I would have liked it either way honestly though because the rest of the movie was pretty good.
