Lets hope at least Yano gets the boot too. Waste of a assistant slot, IMO. Stud isn't doing that great either.

As a Husker fan, I'll take Crowton's 106th total offense right about now.

I'm standing my hunch, posted earlier in this thread, that GC will be OC at LSU next year.

I mean anybody who has the creativity to put "the fastest man in college football" on the field and watch DT's outrun him to the sideline for 3 1/2 years is special. I mean did you see the two fade's in a row with the game on the line at Ole Miss? PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAASE don't fire Crowton!

Difference is he needs a top notch qb. Matt Flynn fit that bill and we are yet to replace Matt Flynn with an equivalent player.
The problems are much deeper than just QB, and he did not develop 2 QB's with TONS of potential when had the chance for 2 straight years.

If you watch LSU football (not leaving a perfectly good game in the third quarter), then you should understand that the offensive play calling is simply ridiculous. Crowton does not put JJ in a situation where he can succeed. He completely abandons the run game, and has turned LSU into a spread offense. It still baffles me why LSU didnt run the ball this year like they did when Toefield and Davis were here. I know the o-line underachieved but LSU would just quit trying after 10 runs (most of them 4-5 or even more yard gains) and starts trying 2 throw the ball everywhere. Crow must go.

the development in both young qbs has been very good.

Are you sure you're watching the right team? Jefferson's development has been better than Lee's for sure, but I would hardly say both have been "very good."

Can JJ become that player next year? Don't know. But he has a greater chance to become that player in his Junior year than he did this year.

So JJ does not have a flux capacitor?

I don't get this whole "GC hasn't forgotten how to coach." If he's fired, Gary Crowton won't be fired because he "forgot" how to coach. No one gets fired for that reason. Nothing's working offensively, and the continuation of that (which we can expect as long as GC stays, IMO) will just lead to more excuses. By your logic, any coach who achieves any success should never be fired.

If it is left up to Miles and he decides to keep Crowton, I think Miles should be held accountable. And if that means LSU's offense is just as bad next year then Miles and Crowton should be gone.

Gary is locked in for 2 more years with about a 1 million dollar buyout for those 2 years. Unless someone comes up with a million dollars or he gets another job and voluntarily leaves, he will still be around.

we pay crowton almost a mil a year. It would cost less to buy him out.
