According to a reliable TD.com source, we can expect Les Miles to replace as many as three assistant coaches, including Offensive Coordinator Gary Crowton. Read more on the Coaching Change Board. Click here to geaux.

I dont think gary should go until next year at least. his offense scored the most points in the history of the program in 07, and he's had two first year starting qbs. the development in both young qbs has been very good. and if he can't have an elite offense next year with a verteran qb, then people should start calling for his job. all it will do is hurt this team to bring in a new scheme in a half a year.

Like it hurt our defense this year?

The development of Jefferson and Lee has been good? Really?

I dont understand how anyone who has watched LSU this year could want GC back. Unorganized, no direction, plain awful. Damn, we are at the bottom of the SEC and NCAA in stats. I dont care who we have a have at QB, we should not be competing with Vandy for 12th in offense!

I really think if your that good of an offensive coach, the drop off shouldnt be as drastic as it was. I mean we were in the BOTTOM 20 in the country in offense this season. While i think Crowton is going to come back next year, look for him to be coaching for his job all next season

Damn...

bad OL=bad QB play, bad QB play makes bad OL look worse, a bad OL and bad QB play= killer for the OC

I agree Gary was very good in '07, but we can't afford to just forfeit every season he doesn't have an upperclassman QB. And it seems that that's the only way his offense can work.

I would leave the decision up to Miles. Either way there is risk, and if Crowton stays it is Miles' job that is really on the line; let him decide if he is worth keeping.

How will pressure help him "coach" better next year? This suggests that he wasn't working hard this year and if that's the case, send him packing now. Our offense was "offensive".

IMO, the only reason Miles doesn't let Crowton go this year is that a bad year next year and he can point the finger back at Crowton. If he hires someone new and the offensive output still sucks, then he is the common denominator and has to take the blame.
