This is a HUGE game for LSU. Why do we have to settle for a split? This will define if we are an also ran or will we contend every year. Losing one of these games puts us in the middle of the pack. How many SEC games did we win last year?

I think the reason everyone said 9-3 was acceptable early this year is because we thought Ole Miss was actually a good team. they are not at all what they were cracked up to be. Our expectations elvolve as the season goes. Therefore anything less than 10-2 is a disappointment in my eyes. Having said that, I'm scared that 9-3 is going to be the final record. Win or lose I will still be watching every minute.

i agree with that, and i felt the same way after the bama game. things are different now becuase of the status of jefferson. if he plays, i think we win. if he's out, i don't see us beating ole miss. can we? yes, but i'm not confident we will.

Agreed. I posted in Dans thread that I thought that Shep running the wildcat a few plays in a row was effective. I think we will have to see more of this. I wonder if they consider pulling off Garretts redshirt. I think it would be stupid, but it would be quite telling. From all accounts he has looked at least as good as Lee.

I agree 100%.

Even the close game with La. Tech I can understand. After the fist fight we were in with Bama and the way they kicked our arse, it took alot out of the players.

But the next two games are crucial. Are we going to lay down like last year or finish strong.

It seems like every game is a referendum on Miles' job.

This is a testament to the lack of confidence people have in Miles. At what point can the guy step out of the shadow? If the team finishes strongly - 11-2 with solid wins - will he then get some benefit of the doubt?

After the 7-5 regular season, I suppose the fanbase did cut him some slack with the whuppin' on GT and the staff changes. I guess he spent that goodwill on his way to 8-2 with less than impressive performances.

If Lee plays in the first half, how he did against Tech, Im all for RRandle taking snaps at qb. High school film was pretty good. I am in no way saying this is going to happen or should, just saying that we prolly have better than what we saw this weekend.- For the jackasses that will say " great idea, put in frosh wr for actual qb with exp.

man what has happened to the LSU tigers i thought i knew...settling for just one out of two against Ole Miss and Arky.... this is quite sad... I have been a lifelong Gator fan and even in the years of Zook we expected to win every game. Once you start settling for less thats where your program goes. LSU needs to get some pride and not accept another loss...

You are just listening to the wrong guys.

Vegas basically opened the line on the Ole Piss game as a 'pick em' if you believe the "3pts for being at home" standard. As expected, the money is going the way of Ole Miss, which has moved the line to 4-4.5. I don't think we lose this game. These guys lost convincingly to Auburn for God's sake. The betting public has a very short memory. Ole Miss had their best day last week, and we looked like shite.

People on here are calling for a blow out??

We had winnable games against the #1 and #2 teams in the country. Stop being a bunch of pussies.

We come out and play inspired football and then get Arky at home on Saturday night.

No give up here!

Wishful thinking. I was sure after the Auburn performance that Shep would be getting some plays at QB. Maybe a little playaction qb option. 0Nope. Been wearing gloves ever since.

I hope you arent posting on company time sir.

People are going to support him even if he loses out, argue his past stats, blame it on Lee, etc. There will be plenty of people willing to make enough excuses to keep him around for another year.

As long as he's selling tickets and keeping the donation coffers full, he's not going anywhere.

there is no way he will be fired this year. i support les and i think he's a good coach, but if we finish 8-4 this year i will be very concerned about the future. i won't bash him, call him names, ect but the reality is back to back season with records of 7-5 and 8-4 are reason for concern.

i think most fans will be and will have every right to be. i just don't see it happening though. i think we either split the next two, or win out.

I have been a Miles supporter throughout his tenure at LSU. However, I cannot gloss over or make excuses for LSU's performance against Louisiana Tech. Despite the victory, it was obvious that LSU was very unprepared and unmotivated to play. And, in my opinion, there is no excuse for that type of performance against an inferior opponent, especially when the head coach is getting paid approximately $4 million per year.

The losses to UF and Bama, I think, are mostly acceptable, considering UF and Bama are generally regarded as the best two teams in the country. However, Ole Miss is an opponent not as good as UF and Bama, and an opponent LSU must beat to remain as a viable top ten program. Because of this, I think the outcome of this weekend's game against Ole Miss, in many respects, is more important to the future of Les Miles and the LSU football program than the UF and Bama games. My fear is that if LSU loses to Ole Miss, then LSU will lose to Arkansas, which will mark two straight late season swoons. One year could be an aberration, two years marks a trend.

This thread is not intended as a flame, but a genuine concern for LSU remaining a top ten program. What say you?
I agree completely. Miles' needs to show that his team can pull out of the funk that it's been in for basically the last 2 years.
