3 isn't really a small amount in 7 games, although one could be blamed on the snap but I was watching him in warmups and he was struggling mightly to hit from over 40 yards.

yes he did but everyone blames the hold.. however i feel brunell got it down enough to just get it thru for an XP.. but whatever.. everyone seems to be defending carney a ton.. but he doesn't have much range and now his accuracy is getting worse..

I say we wait for the STL game when it shouldnt matter who our kicker is and activate Hartley just so he can get some reps.
I dont want him kicking in his first game of the season against a good team where the game could be close.

yeah morstead wants to kick.. he certainly has the leg for it.. but consitency/accuracy is the question here.

I think that Carney has played his way out of being our kicker. At the very least Carney should be deactivated and Hartley should be given a chance.

He will be before Carney goes anywhere. I do not trust Hartley as far as I can throw him. He has not kicked anything in forever. Payton knows Carney has a SB ring and was clutch in the playoffs for the Giants. He said there is room for both on the roster. We are 7-0 with him so I think we are doing fine. Also, I do not know who it is on the left end of the PAT's blocking, but he is terrible. That ATL player almost blocked 3 of em and that guy never got out and touched him. If a kicker feels rushed he's going to push the ball, as what happened in the couple Carney has missed.

buddy, there are 9 guys blocking their 9, 10, or 11 on an extra point. Atlanta went 10 against our 9, there is going to be a guy running free. That happens all the time on extra points. Carney might just be a little slower getting to the ball. No reason Hartley shouldn't get a shot.
