Who are the busts? It's probably too early for Marc Tyler.

Marshall jones was a high 4 star who hasn't done anything and is now buried. You're probably right about Tyler, but he's always injured and has hardly looked like one of the top backs in the country, especially compared to a guy like McKnight who was in the same class

Cassius Marsh Earns Elite Status for 10th Anniversary Game
2009-10-12

Westlake Village, CA (10/9/2009)– Cassius Marsh of Oaks Christian High School, Westlake Village, CA, has been selected to play in the 2010 U.S. Army All-American Bowl joining an elite group of student-athletes. Those selected will play in the 10th Anniversary game on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The annual classic East vs. West match-up will be televised live on NBC at 1:00 PM EST and will feature the nation’s top 90 high school football players.

“Cassius is a talented athlete whose exemplary displays of leadership and teamwork have made him a standout at Oaks Christian High School,” said Col. Derik Crotts, Deputy Chief of Staff, G7, U.S. Army Accessions Command. “The qualities necessary to succeed on the football field, strength, dedication, leadership and teamwork, are the same qualities mirrored in Army Strong Soldiers. We are proud to honor all of our U.S. Army All-American Bowl players and congratulate them on their selection.”

Marsh was selected by the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Committee, which consists of SportsLink’s network of regional directors throughout the country, Rivals.com and Tom Lemming.

Selection Committee Quote: “Marsh is an athletic defensive tackle that has the frame to bulk up and play in college in the 290 pound range. Coming from one of the top high school programs in California, Marsh has helped Oaks Christian become a national force.”

I think the practice of taking DT's on the roster and moving them to OL might be over.

I agree. We actually have some depth on the O-Line now and probably need DT/DE's more than we need offensive lineman at this point.

Maybe someone could help me out here. I remember seeing a couple years ago that Miles moves DTs to OL if they run less than a 5.0 (assuming 40) but I can't remember where I heard it. Maybe it was on this site or TV or radio but it stuck in my head. Anyone know if this is true or not?

Al Woods has also played too high for 4 years, I guess they can't get him to put his backside down.

He's been very poorly coached until this year

It's amazing what good coaching can do! The defense as a whole is getting better week-by-week. And I think the DL is playing better also. They were poorly coached for a while. Al Woods is playing his best. Can you imagine if he had the "Brick" coaching him entire career here?

If USC offered, I don't think he would pass them up. However, there is a reason USC hasn't offered.

He was offered early in the process but USC has a few others ahead of him on their board.

Maybe they will increase interest in him if they miss on a few on their board. They are looking to take at least 2 more DTs. Uko will be one of them and Heimuli will likely be the other. Powell will be a Gator. Not sure what Floyd is going to do but he slightly higher than Marsh on their board.

I dont think its as cut and dry as that. Im sure many factors come into play including depth, technique, how they develop and speed too.
