LSU should use play action
Yep. Everybody who knows anything about offense knows this, but still, we keep doing other bullshite instead. It's truly baffling.

Les blames the problem on execution. But when the other team has equally talented athletes, you're not going to out-execute them consistently if their defense doesn't have to be concerned with how a play might develop differently then they expect.
Exactly. People complained a lot about the center and guards, but really, they're not doing a terrible job on the run. If you look at our running stats in situations where it's not obvious that we're just going to run up the middle, it's not that bad. Even the much-maligned option play is not as bad as people make it out to be.
Having our RBs rush 18 times for 67 yards against UF's defense is actually not too bad, considering that we ran three times from 1st and goal at the 10, and a couple of times on situations like 3rd and 1 and stuff.
The problem is that nobody respects our deep threat, and that whenever LSU passes, the entire play (including the receiver LSU wants to throw to) is transparent as soon as the ball is snapped.

And up until this year, in this decade, that is exactly what the SEC teams feared, LSU's deep threat. Sometime during the game, maybe twice or even three times, we would strike so fast, score batch points, and boom, the game was on.
Even at the end of the game. If we were within a touchdown with two minutes to go, everyone on both sides of the ball knew we could do some damage.
And now, we don't even try. Limp noodles. Sad, so sad.
