Why are our coaches not coaching JJ up on the sidelines after each series? Or are they? From what I observed, he goes straight to the bench after each series and sits by some of the other skill position players. Do the coaches ever have him pick up the phone and call Crowton upstairs? Surely, some in game coaching would help his progression at this stage of his career. At one point in the game, he looked very dejected coming off the field. Only a pat on the head from a defensive player as they crossed paths. No one said a word to him as he approached the side lines. Is this normal? Perhaps I wasn’t watching close enough, maybe some of you can help me out. I'm not saying it's the coaches fault, or even JJs for that matter.

I don't need the film to know JJ looked lost out there.

Whether its the Oline or JJ doesn't matter to me. What does matter to me is the Coaches don't do anything to fix the problem.

If you have a flat tire, you don't blame the car or the tire, you fix the flat.

This is why it is a Coaches problem. Why didn't they try something different when JJ was obviously having trouble in the 3rd quarter of the Georgia game and again in the Florida game.

I just don't understand why the Coaches don't try something else when our qb is sacked so many times.

I mean, what will it take, 10 or 15 sacks a game for the durn coaches to change the game plan. Who you gonna blame then?

Now you have to answer....Im curious.

well... John Williams played QB at Breaux Bridge, and he was the scout team QB when we were preparing for Ga Tech. And all the players said he ran the option better than Tech's QB did. So im thinking...

....that its time to give Lee another shot. With a stronger D and a year of maturing i guarantee he doesnt make the same mistakes as last year.

JL needs to have another chance.....are they gonna let him sit the bench the rest of his time at LSU?

they probably will let him sit. He didnt play well last year, and if we are gonna assume that coaching wasnt to blame, then I see no reason to play him now.

has been that way all along...roll out is only thing he does well and running situationally. The Line is not good, but much more servicable than most contend.

Not according to last year.

I think we are forgetting that JL had a much better OL last year, and early in the year LSU ran the ball well. Teams stacked the box and JL couldnt take advantage of that.

You are absolutely right. He has no confidence. And when the quarterback has no confidence, it starts to effect the other players. Our offensive line beings to lose blocking, making the run game ineffective.

This is not going to be just a quick fix. We can't just put in Jarrett Lee and expect our offense to click. It's going to take a lot of work and we might not have time to get it to.

If they did, I wonder if they would tell him anything like: THROW THE BALL SON. If you don't know where to throw it, throw in the stands or in the dirt, but just throw it or you ain't going out there again.

Again, the Coaches are PAID to make decisions and they aren't making any. If it doesn't work, let's just keep trying it until maybe in a few years it will work.

what does last year have to do with this year?

I guess there's no way a player can improve from one year to the next.

This "last year" argument is for the birds. Stop using it.

A stronger D but a weaker OL. Hell, JL might come in and do better. It's worth a shot. But I raelly wouldnt expect it. LSU cant run the ball. The OL was much better last year. But at this point, what the hell.

Doug said it best. "Jefferson looks uncomfortable every time he drops back to pass, whether in the shotgun, under center, or rolling out. He locks on LaFell at the beginning of every pass play and if JoJo is covered he has no idea what to do so he just takes off running."

not to puff my chest.....aww what the hell, i have said this since he took his first snaps with LSU at the end of last season.

I really wish TheDoc was able to post

and i really hate to "brag" about being right over something like this, because it is obviously hurting the team

If it was a good enough excuse when J. Lee threw 16 picks and 7 pick 6's then surely it can be a valid excuse for JJ.

It was never a valid excuse for Lee. Everyone was calling for Lee's head on a silver platter before Miles finally benched him

This

People calling for Lee need to go back and watch some of the 2008 games.

JL got worse over the season, and you want to disregard that for, what? What you saw in the spring game? Hell why not, throw JL in there again. But dont expect miracles. This OL wont allow much offensive success.
