It surely didnt help. I know you guys say one loss wont change a recruits mind...but it surely isnt gonna help them make up their mind.

It happens every year after a loss with teams all across the country. People still commit.

It didn't hurt very much. The number 1 team beat the number 4 team that was supposed to lose, and lost by 10 points in front of a raucus crowd and incredible game schene with ESPN Game Day in Baton Rouge with many LSU seniors on the field.

I live in Florida now, so couldn't be at the game. But, I'm sure the atmosphere was amazing in BR and thats a plus for recruits. However, I completely agree that the conservative, basic offense is not appealing to ANYONE. Not to mention Russell Shepard is as talented as they come and he's f*ing hanging out with the waterboy! nOT SURE how that helped at all.

If I was a WR, I would never come to LSU based on what I see.

Not at all. That old urban (ooopppsss sorry) legend has been disproven countless times. The recruits themselves say the outcome of the game is low down on their priority list.

it shouldnt really hurt us much in recruiting

everybody knew our offense was inept going into the game and that Florida has a great defense, so the result shouldnt be a huge surprise

a recruit should be able to see that our o-line was doing much and that really was the kiss of death in this game, way more so than play calling or scheme

our defense showed up so that has to help with recruits on that side of the ball- particularly if your a d-lineman, where its clear we need some help

Looking for any silver lining, couldn't Lache just as easy come away from this game saying if I go here next year I have a chance to make an immediate impact? They need an impact RB more than AU does?

Not saying that is what he thought, but who knows what goes through the mind of a recruit in this type of situation

Read Landrys comments on Rivals, and you'll see that your post is wrong. These recruits can read stats, and know what a good offense and a bad offense look like. If it were just the Florida game that we struggled on offense...thats one thing, but the recruits can see that our offense has struggled 6 games straight.

Exactly right...sometimes a deficiency can actually help recruiting for the reason you gave. The guys you want to come to LSU are not the sunny day fellows who only like something when it is perfect. As Bum Phillips said, you want guys who "can hold on to the rope."

Who is Landry? Link his comments.

does that mean they won't sign somewhere? This same coaching staff had an explosive offense 2 years ago. Even last year the offense was good and not the problem. Recruits, their handlers and HS coaches will not have the same fatalistic view that whiney, Miles hating fans do and expect the offense will never get better and will be like it is 6 games into the 2009 season for the rest of time. With better QB play, this offense would be really good. That can change. It may not this year, but that does not mean it will not over the next 3, 4 years.

You forgot about the whiney bitchey ones who have no ability to think in the abstract, or project outward toward long term goals. We are dealing with a society here that lives in the now, in the moment, where everything is youtubed and analyzed instantly, where every single piece of minutia is elevated to super status, with great implications.

I think kid's are smart enough to see it's very hard to go undefeated any more,ie:Oklahoma,Usc,Tenn.Ga. etc etc,If you bleed purple and Gold a kid should want to be part of Tiger Nation,as Vern kept saying Saturday night''there is NO other place like Tiger stadium on a Sat. night.''

Recruits are often more stupid than the fans that post here. Keep in mind that in two weeks we play auburn. That game will have a much bigger impact on recruits than the fla. game IF the recruits are worried about how good LSU is this year and not down the road when they are on the team.

Danielson made the comment that LSU just picked up 3 new commitments based on the atmosphere.

You know what helps even more? Going on an open internet message board and basically SUGGESTING that our recuits look elsewhere because YOU are unhappy with the program.

Nice work...
