This game is big, but a loss by either team

does not eliminate them from national title consideration.
If Florida loses, they still probably run the table and play Bama or LSU in SEC title game for shot at national title game.
If LSU loses, they still have Auburn and Bama and potential rematch against Fla in sec title game.

Obviously you have not been watching CF. Bama is GOOD and Auburn is no slouch not to mention we still have to go to OM. This game is HUGE for us, maybe not so big for UF. We need this win BAD.

Yeah -- the media and Vegas views of the game has taken the pressure off of LSU and allows them to go into the game like they're a huge underdog with Miles able to give the Bill Murray speech from Meatballs. Big advantage.
In reality though, LSU has a lot less margin for error if it wants to go to the SEC championship since Ole Miss, Alabama, Auburn, and Arkansas are far tougher than the rest of UF's conference schedule.

I agree....In a normal world...
BUT
USC lost to unranked UW but will be much higher than us in the polls should #4 lose to #1
Same can be said for tOSU, VT, Miami. LSU would get knocked way down the pecking order.

This game means more to lsu than it does to Florida by far.
Not so much in the results, but in how the game plays out.
With or without tebow, lsu has a chance to prove to themselves, their fans and the rest of the country they can compete on an elite level in 2009.
Everyone knows Florida can, but there are tons of questions around lsu, and a lot will be answered on Saturday.
I think well finally know if we belong in the mix for a bcs bowl. Or if were hoping for a new years day bowl at best.

Unless one team gets blown out by the other.

if we win the rest of the games, we would play for the mnc- almost regardless. (if bama, auburn and florida had multiple losses including non-conf teams we would probably be left out)
but, if we beat florida, then we could potentially have a slip-up and still play.
Odds are still long against us winning the mnc, but we control our own destiny.
we're #4, undefeated and about to play the defending nat champ. Most teams wish they were in our position. going to be great-
geaux tigers!

Don't you mean from Stripes?
Anyway, I agree. I think UF could drop this game and still make the NC game. Not so much for LSU.

This is very true....Hope the Tigahs can continue to get better!!! There is still a whole lot of football left after this Saturday night.

mathemetaically, sure...both teams can afford to lose the game
UF can even afford to lose by 10+, Tebow battling symptoms, Brantley playing etc
BUT, if LSU can't even be competitive, what is possible mathemeatically won't matter because realistically, LSU probably won't have a shot to win the SEC west, much less beat Florida in a rematch
