Is Tim Brando calling SEC refs racist?

He was saying that the refs call the celebration penalty too early and that penalty should go away. Most would agree with that.
Then, he says that the SEC calls celebration penalties more than any other leage in America because of "local politics and won't make the SEC look good at all."
Is it me or is he trying to say it is about racism? Are you kidding me?

How does "local politics" have anything to do with racism? Seriously what am I missing?

i just think its refs being extremely oversensitive with this whole sportsmanship campaign

I agree, but the reason they are so sensitive to it is because it has been stressed this year by the "higher ups." Who are they exactly? I'm not sure, but I bet they're old and white.
And I'm not saying there's any blatant racism going on--that's kind of absurd. Just a clear culture clash that has gone WAY overboard. I mean, if you're going to call those, why even play the fricking games?

Both of those excessive celebration shite calls were atrocious. AJ Green just went and celebrated with his teammates as he shoulda done after he made Hawkins his bitch, and Charles Scott pointed up to the sky as to point to God or whatever, not to the fans. Both of them were ridiculous. They need to fix this shite, because while Im glad this call didnt backfire on us today on UGAy's last chance drive, the next time this happens it could hurt us.

If this excessive celebration is a directive from the SEC office, I wonder why they flags wasn't flying in the Bama/Kentucky game

After I heard about the SEC statement being released after the game to back the ref because Green 'called attention to himself'...I focused on the SEC highlights.
EVERY player sportscenter showed that scored a TD from the SEC made some benign gesture to the crowd...but NO penalties were called.
You guys caught a huge break on that. UGA has every right to feel like they were screwed...'cause they were.

Dude, we got the same exact penalty called on us after we scored that made us kick off from the 15 as well. Both calls were horrible, but no team was screwed any worse than the other.

you do know charles scott was flagged for the same thing after he scored the GW TD right?

"local politics..." is code. Hate to break it those whom so quickly dismiss it. You don't have to have some widespread global plot for racism to exist and be expressed in this context.
I can't say, I don't know, and I will not accuse Brando as being a racist (though many of us here agree he's an idiot).
Kinda like the good ol' "athleticism" tag given to teams and players, as if we don't what these announcers and pundits are really talking about.
BTW, there was another 15-yd. penalty against that Ga. RB who was carrying on and the ref threw the flag just as the dude walked by him (who knows what he said?).
The game did have a happy ending, at least for the LSU fans here. The Tigers won, and a lot of players from both schools briefly prayed together on the field shortly after it ended. Not bad, considering all those crazy penalties and following a really tough & competitive game that went down to the wire.
