Biggest issue I have with these threads is the program was in 2 different places for each coach.
With Saban we were coming off 2 losing seasons and a Indy bowl team. Prior to Les we were coming off 3 winning seasons with a national championship.

To compare the numbers to me is silly as the talent level was not equal when they began. Saban did great things for LSU, Dinardo left him enough talent to turn it around quickly. Les came in took the players that were left and continued the winning that began with Saban.
Both are great coaches for LSU and LSU is lucky to have them even with Saban at Bama you can not discount what he accomplished.

I will admit that Saban had more talent/better recruiting while he was here. This only supports my argument

First in 2001 Lsu beat Auburn they didn't lose. Next after a coach is at a school 4-5 yrs you can tell the job he has been doing by how his team is build. How is the team built today vs after 4 yrs with Saban? Nuff Said
