The newspaper editor for the school wrote this in this weeks preview of the UL/LSU game. He's serious and obviously doesn't know a thing about football.

"Arguably our biggest game all year, the game we've all been waiting for, UL versus LSU. The Cajuns have been impressive thus far. The offense is showing no hiccups, even with all the new faces. The defense has been playing steady, but still needs to find itself earlier in games. The Tigers are not playing up to expectations. They are playing down to their opponents level. They are coming out flat, but they are still winning. That ends on Saturday as Masson and Sails will lead the Cajuns to a victory in a nail-biter,21-19."

I picked this up this morning and thought I should share.

Does that mean we have to run backwards against USL?

287 yards of offense and 17 points last week isn't exactly lighting up scoreboards.
Last time ULL came here, was it '06? We heard how high powered that offense was. They were limited to a field goal. Once again, the 2009 ULL offense will disappoint in Tiger Stadium.

Also, ULL is getting dominated in time of possession. Yes, even against Southern. This may turn out to be a good thing for the Peppers. If Les knows he can put up some 6 or 7 minute drives he will and the score won't get to out of hand.

What do you guys expect him to say, "We're going to lose"? He writes for the ULL paper!

As an aspiring sports writer, I've been saying this dude's writing is shite for the past 2 years. This cat said the titans didn't deserve to be the last undefeated team in pro ball last year because they didn't throw it enough. I'm sorry, but football is based on ball control and defense.

Yet, our fans would probably be moaning if the Reveille picked Florida to beat LSU. We are all homers. Take this stuff with a grain of salt.

How does a defense get lost?

There are going to be alot of dissapointed Tiger fans wondering around after the game with their head up their arse. If LSU doesn't come to play and there is no mandatory improvement; the Tigers go down. Then people will be wondering if the diehard LSU fans are on Meth.

I can't for the life of me understand why ULL fans would think this is there biggest game. Shouldn't there number one goal be reaching a bowl game of some sort? They could beat LSU (which there is a .00000001% chance of that happening) and bomb in the grueling Sun Belt Conference and not make a bowl game. Why wouldn't their biggest game of the year be against a Troy or some other SBC Powerhouse team? Would they rather beat LSU and lose every other game, rather then win the SBC and make it to a bowl game??

I graduated from Mcneese and was at the game two years ago when usl got their asses reamed. What on god's green earth makes these people think they can go to Baton Rouge and win?

If the Tigers were to play down to the level of Oo-La-La, that would involve lowering their britches & dropping a deuce on the turf on Sat.
