Everyone is talking about how LSU fans are upset about this past week's game. Newspaper articles are being written about it. Opposing coaches are hearing it. Radio call-in shows and this website are the primary places where the venom is being spewed.

Combine the reaction to the Washington game with leaving early from games last year (the Troy game), and a distinct impression is being given that LSU fans are turning against their own team - a team that has won 80 percent of it's games and 2 National Championships in the past 6 years.

Opposing fans are even trying to make us lighten up a little by saying it was only the first game and we did win by the way.

If anyone thinks that all of this negativity isn't having an effect, you are stupid. It is spreading like a virus.

Do we have real fans who can objectively see some mistakes and then hope for a better showing while cheering for LSU, or do we have a bunch of spoiled imposters who just want to gripe.

It's Wednesday. This is embarrassing.

I don't think being critical of the team and turning against them is the same thing. Yes, some on this site are embarrassing to the LSU fan base, with their "the sky is falling attitude" but many are just pointing our areas where we would like to see improvement.

We were sold on championship football over the past few years and that's what we expect to see. If we lose three or four games we have a right to be disappointed, but I will still fully support the Tigers. However, I do agree that calling Miles, Chavis, or players out and attacking them personally is ridiculous.

I'm guessing almost no non-LSU fans know or care about this. People leave early from games every year that aren't close.

It has gotten worse in this aspect since 2003 when all of the bandwagon jumpers arrived. If any of these people who are in panic mode had went to school at LSU when I did, they would realize how good things are now. Since 2003, LSU has acquired a fan base that knows little about the aspects of a college program. It wasn't light years ago that we would of went up to Seattle and got beat in a game like that. Now all of sudden we are suppose to win the SEC and NC every year. Now we are suppose to beat everyone by 21+ points. The bandwagon has created alot of unrealistic expectations.

It was one game, which we won by the way, and people are calling for heads. Based off of our fan's reactions after this game, we should of gotten rid of Pelini after 1 game in 2005, and we all know how that worked out.

Expectations are part of college football, but our "fan base" has created unrealistic ones for the LSU program.

sunday was the worst; on here at least. BUT, the rational, more mature fan base showed up by monday, many posting for the first time. the latter group, while acknoweging areas of needed improvement showed the true colors of the LSU fan. we are TIGERS baby! and we love miles and we love LSU!!!! as far as newspaper articles, i have seen no "turning against LSU" stuff. maybe the press in Alabama is exagerating, no? they love problems in LSU country so maybe they kinda slant their coverage a little.

In this day and age where it doesn't pay to be honest; I can understand your sentiment. Expressing what took place on the field is reality. That is going to be reality to those young men when they turn pro. If you want things to be different then its going to reflect the play on the field. This is not to say that individual players played bad or deserve to be berated, but collectively have to live with the results. Does this mean that the stands will be empty for the rest of the season, and fans or now non supportive. No . Enough said; we all need to move on.
