Martellus Bennett was a freaking 2nd round pick...explain to me how a guy "busts" in college and ends up being the 4th TE drafted, as a Junior none the less.

Freshman: 18 catches, 162 yards, 3 TDs
Sophomore: 38 catches, 497 yards, 3 TDs
Junior: 49, 587 yards, 4 TDs

Does that look like a 5 star stud to you?

Starting at USC as a Junior?

He's a very solid player. But again, he was supposed to be the most dominant pass rusher of that class.. he was the number 6 ranked player in the country.

Is he good? Absolutely. Is he still one of the top pass rushers in the country? Not really...

Over 500 yds receiving as a TE in a run-oriented offense with Steven McGee as the QB?

These are good stats for a TE.

Thats good for 1st team All-SEC last year. Those are better numbers across the board than what Jared Cook put up last year, and Cook wasn't even really a TE as he was basically used as an inside WR in a spread offense.

A guy who ends up being the best at his position in his conference AND good enough to enter the NFL draft as a JR and end up as a 2nd round pick is in no way a bust, no matter how many stars he had. The TE iis one position in which stats greatly depend on the offense.
