Red Wine Reduction?

Anyone have a recipe or tips? Going with bison steaks.

chop shallots and put them and the wine in a pot and reduce until it's basically syrupy. if you could, separately reduce some type of brown stock. mix the 2 at the end to taste. on the heat add a good a mt of cold butter and just shake the pan to incorporate it.

Yeah...what you said. I think port is better for these type of reductions though

also bay and thyme and various other vegetables (probably like onion/carrot/celery/garlic) in the wine wouldnt be bad (i like mushrooms)
