People die from the flu every year. The gov't has scared everyone into thinking this swine flu is some deadly epidemic.
It's the fricking flu. A handful will die as they do every year.

The media didn't help either, I'm with you, people die from the flu annually, a few more will die because of this one, but it's nowhere near the big deal everyone has made it out to be.

First, I think he's saying affect the team by getting sick, not by dying.
Second, it's an added illness. Now you'll have regular flu and this flu(I'm assuming).

40,000 people in the U.S. die annually from various strains of flu. Many of these are elderly. H1N1 is expected to infect up to 50% of the U.S. population and kill 90,000 people in the U.S. Many of the elderly have been exposed to a similar strain in the past, so a large portion of those killed will be babies and young children.
As far as the football team goes, it could screw us up for a week or two but it shouldn't be a major problem.

This is true, the only people that enjoy bringing this up is the media, must sell alot of papers.

+1
How many athletes in peak physical condition do you people out there think will be knocking on death's door?
If my 10-year old niece can get over it, so can a 250+ pound defensive back who has access to better-than-average health care.
Good post, Smokin...
