One of my favorite baseball movies is one from 1949 called 'It happens every spring" staring Ray Milland. Milland is a college professor who develops a formula that makes baseballs avoid wood and he becomes a major league phenom. Yes, its silly but they had a way, in those days, of portraying the sport of baseball that modern day filmmakers lack. Most of my favorite baseball movies are from that era.
