you realize every year at LB, there is a guy just as good or if not better than Mauti???

And there's only 1 per year. So how does that make my state wrong he's one of the best to come out in years? You realize you still haven't disproved that...right? I didn't say he was the best recently, or the best in the last 5 or 10 years.

I said one of the best. You even quoted it.

what do u want me to use??

Guys in recent years which is what I was talking about? Hell, might as well of gone back well into the 90s at the rate you were going.

quote:

you know what u mean when you said one of hte best in years, you can keep trying to wiggle around it.

Yes. I knew what I meant, apparently you didn't and are taking it completely differently. ONE OF THE BEST in years. How is the #1 LB in the state that year not fit that criteria? Not to mention he is already off to a very good start actually playing for a team known for producing LBs.

Im not going to argue with someone as clueless as you u anymore

Sorry once again you lost.

I know you have some sort of grudge against me since baseball season as myself along with others laughed at your meltdowns in the play by play threads. Let's be honest though LE - you will constantly keep leg humping me until you "get" me. Just like yesterday when you posted in the Storm Johnson thread making fun of my source and that later blew back up in your face (as per usual). I know you won't stop.

Im also friends with Mike and he was not a PS lock like every one thinks. He was very high on Fl actually and like it was said earlier LSU didnt pay him much mind. To add to insult they picked that Prater kid from TX who was rated almost the same. That was an out of state kid to top it off. And as for the guy who said that Jacob C is better is very wrong. Go ask the STM players and coaches what they think. After there loss the head coach said that Mike was the best LB that he had coached against. I have several friends in my fraternity that are former STM players and they also all agree.

Mauti was a beast. He caught our RB in the backfield on a toss away from his side multiple times

I watched that STM game and Mike was everywhere. He hit Mahtook so hard on a rollout that he broke Mikey's jaw and broke some other kids collarbone. I also read that quote from STM coach about Mauti. He is by far the best LB I have seen play in LA HS football.

Sorry dude I ain't buying your sad story about how he wasn't recruited hard by LSU when he committed to PSU that is a 1000 miles away but couldn't travel to LSU for a camp. He committed in June if he was serious about LSU he would have atleast came to camp.

Quit trying to blame LSU for him going elsewhere. He's at PSU and that's not gonna change. I haven't said one bad word about him as a player I think he's a good one.

Why would he "have" to come to a camp when he was already being heavily recruited by top notch teams. Unless you are a lock kind of kid, if you're own state school isn't recruiting you and you have big time over options you wouldn't feel like you had to do anything. Same goes for LSU, they could have come to see him play more than they did and evaluate then. Hell, they roll up to Georgia every year and evaluate kids numerous times. MHS is an hour away. That would have been a slap in my face if I was him. Kinda like how some people say our recruiting is Sentimore was a slap in his face.

So he was too good to come to LSU?

Look I think you can see from the results from last year and the way CLM has recruited this year that things have changed with the way LSU recruits. I for one, am glad to see it. Maybe Mauti wouldn't have gotten away but it's too late to worry it about it now.

Not too good for LSU but like I said before, he was not a lock kid that could be slow played like we see each year so they should have been evaluating/recruiting him harder if they wanted any chance at him. And don't kid yourself by thinking LSU didn't know that. I know its hard to believe but there are kids whowould be extremely less interested in the home state school if you were being slow played and not being evaluated/recruited by them but other top programs are recruiting the hell out of you.

If it's too late to worry about it, then stop talking out of your arse about a kid you don't know, never met, never seen play, never talked to. It blows my mind when some of you guys speak for kids like you know them or argue with people who know him and actually talk about this stuff with them.

so you pretend to not know Mauti's background, yet later on in the thread comment on him being one of the best lb's to come out of the state in yrs., then quote his stats?

c'mon man.

I would say that Mike was one of the top LBs to come out of the state in the past 3-4 years imho. I think time will prove me right.

are you just arguing to argue? This makes no sense. He was a 4 Star on rivals and the #8 player in La in 2008 a down year in La, and the #16 LB in the nation, a very good prospect, nothing super special, that seemed to be PSU all the way. So he starts as a soph. Good for him, will not make or break the LSU program, move on.

Huh? I just remembered he had a connection to PSU and was pointing it out.

And he was, hence the #1 LB in the state that year. What's so difficult to understand about this?

Because LE talked about what he's done at PSU so I informed him.
