From this area, and 87 goes into Navarre which is quite a way on Hwy 98. You will crawl all the way. The mid bay bridge, although it's a toll bridge, may be the better way. Traffic at this time of the year is a nightmare, but at the bay bridge will bring you straight into Destin. JMHO

Take exit 56 off I-10. Takes through Niceville and across the mid-bay bride.
Will save you at the very least 45 minutes, usualy much more due to traffic on 98.
