which was the most impactful WR? Bowe grew into a great one, but Early had some clutch catches in meaningful games.

bowe had 6 more TD's and 500 more yards and played less as a freshman than Doucet did because of the depth ahead of him.

Bowe had a better season, 2006. Blew up his SR year but overall Early was clutch his whole career. After eye surgery Bowe became a serious threat, too many drops prior.

Both were great Tigers. I always liked Early for clutch plays, Bowe had those too but what I always liked about Bowe was that he was one hell of a tenacious blocker.

Who was better? Dwayne Bowe. Who had a more significant career at LSU? That's a lot closer to question. Bowe leads LSU history in a category and Doucet doesn't. However, Doucet won our '06 game at Tenn and was a big part of our championship season.

Bowe had a few game winners as well. Bama in OT for one, and a big one to force OT against OSU.

I don't know the stats on paper, but Bowe was probably the better WR.

However, both made clutch, game winning plays throughout their career, which made them both invaluable. See Bowe vs. Ole Miss in 2006, Early Doucet vs. Tenn in 2006 and vs. Bama in 2007.

Either one could make a strong case as Best WR in LSU history. (Although so could Josh Reed, Wendell Davis and many others.)

there is no possible way you could make a case for early to be the best wr of all time. bowe is prolly 3 but mite be passed by lafell this year. early was injured way to much imo to be considered in the same category as Reed and Davis.

I second this motion, with a caveat. If LaFell has at least as good a year this season as the last... he'll jump Early for sure, and be on a tier with Clayton and Bowe.
