Per Dave Van Horn, Arkansas will start L Steven Richards, 6-1, 1.82 ERA on Friday vs. LSU. He's faced LSU for one inning this season and struck out 3 batters. He is usually a reliever.

This should at least give Arky a chance to stay in the game early on. Of course it won't matter that much but it could make for a more compelling first inning or two.

so i'm guessing ochinko (sp?) gets the start? not sure landry would start versus a righty anyways?

Not sure, but he is usually our closer. I know he went 1.2 against Florida State in the Tallahassee Supers, but I would guess close to 3.

Kid has pitched 35 innings in 30 appearances. This kid is going to hit a wall after starting and throwing 2 innings. He'll be out of gas by the 4th and get shelled.

he will not see the 4th inning.. Arky is setting up to throw a ton of pitchers at us..

I doubt he sees the third. And then, even if they do manage to keep the game close, they have no closer at the back end of the game.

This should be interesting. He'll be lucky to last 3 innings.

This is probably the case. I mean LSU chased Danny Hultzen in 3.

If I were an opposing coach and had the arms, Id throw a different pitcher every inning. But it wont matter much, if the bats stay as hot as theyve been.

richards' longest appearance is 3 innings this year...february 20th, 2nd game of the season against washington st.

I wonder if any of the posters saying he wont last more than an inning or two are the same ones that are calling for Ott to start next year?

See Nicholls State... I know that game was an anomaly against our 2nd line players, but NSU used 8 pitchers.
It is an interesting approach.
Hopefully we can get 1 run per pitcher....heheh.

Wow, this is a desperation move after using their two primary lefties on Wednesday. Richards hasn't started a game all year and is their closer who usually throws 1 inning (think Matty Ott).
