outta control. I truly believe we have one of the nicest parks now in America but every camera angle you see an ad. The absolute worst is the camera view from the outfield fence aiming towards home plate.
Don't misconstrue my rant - I love the box, just wish it would be toned down a bit.

pretty much the same as the old box, ads have been around in baseball since the beginning of time

you could always pay them to put up nothing if you would like that

True, but check out the Texas TCU game. Obviously they have the resources to not need the ad revenue like we do, but it is just so much more refreshing to see green padding and not a big Tony's cartoon character behind home plate.

Point taken, but I am not saying to eliminate all ads.

but i definitely don't want our field to look as shitty as Texas'
ETA: Yes i know it won't ever b/c they have turf

texas's field loses by default because they have a big arse logo behind second base. its couldnt scream softball more if it tried.

Even the dirt is painted turf - it sucks for baseball.
Now Tiger Stadium on the other hand...

bnap, you saw that too? damn if the bevo logo wasn't as big as a 747 it might be a little different.
I do however like what we did on our field for the regional with the "LSU" in geaux font behind the mound and in the infield. Classy yet not overdone.

Posted on 6/8/09 at 6:55 pm to bbap

Yes, that does suck. Bad hops happen in baseball, it is part of the game.
