Does Louisiana State University not liked to be called Louisiana State?

That is obviously from the '96 Vandy (White Out) game. Yes, the midfield logo was like that in the DiNardo era. The Arsnsparger/Archer era had the state of LA emblem with the star for Baton Rouge inside of it.

I never ever said Hallman was a good coach. But, compared to Dinardo... come on silly rabbit. He had better won loss records, but if you look at the schedule and who he beat, Dinardo only had a maybe three quality wins. Hallman inherited a talentless team and did an average job. Dinardo inherited a mid to good talent team and completely failed when it came to beating good teams (other than Florida in '97)and that was largely Carl Reese's defense scheme. In the end every coach, player and fan in the stadium know what play he was running. And the defense was a complete joke.
Look at the talent of Hallman vs. Dinardo.
Look at the strenght of schedule of Hallman vs. Dinardo.
If you can't see it, I can't help you.
Yeah, you pretty much don't have a clue about what you say with exception to the defensive commenent. And I suppose Mike Bugar was better than Carl Reese, too?

Curley Hallman had the eye first.
Dinardo didn't really know about the eye. Herb Vincent really put the LSU there, b/c he thought that all aspects of Hallman should be wiped away.
I asked him about it and he said, "that was Curly's eye."

Stop letting a few winning seasons blind you. Dinardo's 10 win season included 8 wins vs. terrible teams, 1 vs Auburn who was maybe top 25 and a very weak Clemson team in the Peach Bowl. The only good teams LSU played (Florida and Bama) blew their freakin doors off. Dinardo was a joke. The only legit win the entire time he was here was Florida in '97... and he really had nothing to do with it. It was Reese, whom he ran off the next season.
When you people talk about winning with the previous coach's players, you never consider losing with the previous coach's players. That's exactly what Hallman did. Dinardo had much more talent than Hallman, a much weaker schedule and ran off any good coordinators that got credit. By the time Dinardo left, we couldn't kick off in bounds, make a 30 yd field goal, defend any fake kick or trick play whatsoever and everyone with an IQ over 70 knew the offensive and defensive formations. It was a complete joke.

You better be careful, you're liable to cause an uprising by the idiots on here. Everything you just said is absolute heresy, all because DiNardo's successor coaches at Alabama now, and they use historical revisionism trying to reduce how shitty the program DiNardo left for Saban was is the one, single straw they can grasp at to denigrate what Saban accomplished at LSU.

Speaking of bad memories, till this day I still hold my breath when the tigers attempt to kick an easy field goal.

Me too, to this day. It will probably take another 10 years of reliable field goal kicking before I get that out of my head. The state the program was in DiNardo's last year was as bad or worse as any year under Hallman or Archer. The thought of EIGHT STRAIGHT LOSSES (read that as many times as you need to, Gerry lovers) is unfathomable to me as a Tiger fan.

I liked the LA emblem with the star where Baton Rouge is. I remember those days under Arnspager and I believe Archer had it too. I don't remember what Curly Hallman had at midfield; probably because I tried to block the bad memories out.

The Field was like that for most if not all of the JD days. It changed with Saban to the Eye and the Big block LSU in the Endzones with the Opposite colored side lines. I Like how they have LSU in the endzones now but i do like the way it was with LSU at mid field and Tigers in the endzones.

Dinardo was undefeated in bowl games at LSU too. All those bowl teams must have been shitty as well, including that shitty team coached by Nick Saban that Dinardo absolutely destroyed. Nobody is diminishing what Saban did, but Dinardo was clearly a better coach than Hallman. And Dinardo didn't leave the cupboard bare when he left. The main problem was Tepper. The offense was scoring, but the defense couldn't stop anybody.

No. it's usually a sign of ignorance when people refer to LSU as "Louisiana State." Athletics at this school are officially called "LSU" by LSU's branding and licensing department.
Just do yourself a favor and say LSU like everyone else.

will do.
I seriously had no idea. I thought since your called LSU so much you would like to hear the Louisiana State every now and then.

Curly was/is so bad, he is not even involved in football anymore. Not a head coach, not an assistant coach, not an analyst, not a trainer...nothing. We can argue about the virtues (or lack thereof) of Dinardo, but Curly's place in history is solid. He was the worst coach LSU has ever had (and maybe one of the worst coaches in college football history).

Many, many years ago TS was absolutely beautiful on a Saturday night as one end zone was set apart for LSU, in purple and gold, while the other end zone was set apart for the opponent in their respective colors...it was really a sight to behold...
I remember that as a kid.
