Have you ever seen him play?
Probably not...
i have and he's definitely a throwback player. He plays with a lot of heart.

I would say either Tyler Edwards, Rocky Duplessis, or Josh Johns

We should give 1 to Duplessis and 8 to Johns.

After the end of next year, i think that Michael Ford will get to wear the #18!!!!
You will all see why!

Please. Enlighten the ignorant. What is the significance of the 18 jersey?
Flame away, but also please enlighten.

After Jacob Hester graduated, he handed down the jersey to Richard Dickson. It acknowledged his talent and hard work on the field. Dickson will pass the number onto a similar hard-nosed player.
Ford actually seems like a very reasonable choice, but I would laugh my arse off it it goes to someone like Duplessis.

i think it started with Matt Mauck, when he graduated he gave it to Hester, who then gave it to Dickson once he graduated.
so it's kinda like a new tradition.

I can't remember who it was, but I remember one of our wrs (I think Byrd) saying that the number gets passed down to the best white guy on the team.

If that is the criteria, then they should end that "tradition". Just give it to the best player period.

If that's the case, Dickson will have some slim pickings next year since the number can only be worn by a RB, FB, WR, QB, TE, and possibly a DB.

I agree. I think Byrd (or whoever said it) meant it as a joke.

It didn't start with Mauck, he and Hester didn't play together. It started with Hester just passing it on to another hard-nosed player. Also, Byrd meant that as a joke, the jersey # isn't about race

With a name like "Rocky", how do you pass that up?

Get your facts straight, mauck DID pass it along to hester after the 2003 season.
It goes to the plaer with the most "motor" and "hard nosed".
But don't expect richard murphy to receive it, just saying.

Were the two ever enrolled at LSU at the same time?
