that kid on friday was ridiculous!! We struggled all year vs LHP last year. That being said, you gotta cut them a lil bit of slack. UKs staff is among the tops in the league
It is not just the staff they faced this weekend. I realize that the UK staff is good, but at the same time, there is no reason to lose fundamentals when facing the best. If anything, you should revert back to your fundamentals when playing the best competition.
The batters problems have been evident since last year, but no one bitches about it unless they go in "slumps". The point remains--there is only a select group of pitches/location combinations that many of the guys can hit. It is too hard to go into specifics over the internet, but most of their problems stem from their hands being in the incorrect position and most of all extending their arms too early in the swing--hence why most of the lefties look like they have a HUGE swing...they do not stay compact as long as you as supposed to. They can hit fast balls over the plate or anything on the outside of the plate (assuming they keep their head in and hips), but they run into MAJOR problems hitting anything on the inside.
Thats about the most description I really feel like going into, but there are major issues with the guys at the plate. Everyone just notices it more against better pitching or when they go in slumps.
