It runs to the edges of the field and then down these things called 'drains'. From there, it connects to the central sewerage line and out to sea....

They need to put drains on the concourse.

I don't know anything about the turf they installed but I'm pretty sure they used a sand/soil mix with a high "perforation" to allow the water to drain into french drains below the soil.

I know they did the football practice fields this way when they added the football ops.

Think of how a golf green drains - basically the same idea.
