He wrote a book about the 1998 home run race between McGwire and Sammy Sosa. I looked it up and it's called The Summer of ’98: When Homers Flew, Records Fell, and Baseball Reclaimed America
Of course, now he is one of the most vocal critics of the steroid era and its key participants. This either makes him a self-serving hypocrite or a complete moron (assuming he thought any of the guys other than Frank Thomas were clean). For such an avid baseball fan, he should know that players don't normally hit their peak at 35.
