What long-term guy did you have in mind? Is there someone in the first round, because if you wait until the second day you likely won't find a starter.

I realize safeties have long been a weakness, and you would prefer to find "the guy" to put back there for a few years. But if the money is right, I think it makes sense to sign the vet short-term.
