Exactly, he had an offer to one of the best programs in the country, and he already had 2 shots to get his act together. Who says he would not have failed out, or been another Perriloux situation. Also, who said that Les pulled the scholly? Maybe Benton didn't want the competition and thought it was best for him to move on. He is what 20 years old now, so odds are he wants to play NOW. He can go to Auburn, play for 1 year and become draft eligible, so maybe Benton decided this on his own.

Benton has wanted to go to LSU since late 2006, so I seriously doubt he decided he liked AU more in the last week.

Les did, in this evening's press conference, when asked if Benton had a scholarship offer this morning, Les said "no"
