He used it in an analogy......saying when LSU and Bama play, the only color that matters is purple and gold or crimson and white.

It's more about Saban and Miles, I think. Which is still a matter of black and white.

A better historical reference would have been USC and Bama in the Bear years. USC had some great black talent then up against white Bama team (78 I think). USC whipped their arse and it became a civil rights type statement.

But it was Jesse Jackson. What do you expect? Did he make it sound like a Dr. Seuss rhyme?

Legend has it that Bear asked Coach McKay to "borrow" Sam Cunningham who ran all over the field. Took him to the Bama locker room and told he players "This is what a football player looks like". I imagine it did not go down exactly like that, but maybe something close to it.

That Bama team was 1970 dude. And in 1971 we went back to the coliseum and returned the favor 17-10. And check to see when ALL SEC schools integrated. Bama wasnt by any means the last. Just the most nationally known. 1978, give me a break, know your facts before you try to run us down anymore. Thats what pisses me off about LSU fans, they open up without knowing facts and try to make everything a Bama thing, on everything. Get your facts then talk. At least Aubies genreally know what they're talking about.
Go to hell you ignorant troublemaker.
