Do you know your VO2 max?

With over 3 years of data points from weekly runs my Garmin watch says I have a VO2 max of 51. It has slowly climbed up from the mid 40s over the past year.

I have 8 months of data from mine and it's never had me higher than 32 , and right now I'm down to 30
I'm lying to myself and saying VO2 is like BMI and it's better because it's going lower.
Of course, I'm so fat, my fat has it's own fat, so that's not helping, and all I do is walk for exercise as far as my Garmin watch knows.

I am Garmin based also, mine says 48-49. Hoping it is pretty accurate as I wear a Polar chest strap to run/ride.
I am 50 years old and trying to get the 3x50.
50 VO2 max
50 HRV-this one seems to be the toughest as I usually average low 40s
50 Resting HR, Garmin shows between 47-51 depending on the week
No clue how accurate the Garmin measurements are and I do not care enough to go get it accurately measured at a doctor's as I doubt it would change anything.

Yes. 55 according to my Apple Watch which I’ve had for years

My Apple Watch is so inaccurate. I promise my nearly 45 year old heart isn’t getting 195 beats per min for an hour straight.

I’m not convinced those things are right. Mine routinely shows mid 50s but every time I do an actual test it’s mid 40s.

I get mine tested annually. In my opinion, it's one of the most important, and arguably THE most important, health statistic to be measured. While I hope that the training program I use for running makes me faster, that is not the intent. The intent of my training program is to maintain or increase my VO2 score.

Currently 51 at 36
Highest it has ever been was 62 back in my actual playing days
Those were tested using a bike/treadmill
My resting heart rate is 51BPM average over the last 6 months.
My heart and lungs are great. But my genetics say I will die of cancer at 70 so what’s the point

Mine is 52 according to my Polar watch. No clue how accurate it is. Probably not very.

Garmin says mine is 58. I’m 33 and run 4-5 days/week. I’d be curious to know what it actually is. Anyone know where to have a test done in South Louisiana?

My Garmin says mine is 50 even as of today. My VO2 max test as of Nov of last year says it's 54. Top 3-5% for my age depending on which one you believe. I managed to increase it marginally from my first test back in '22. I've really focused on a plan to increase it since Nov of last year. Lots of zone 2, with a tempo day on Tuesday and a sprint interval day on Thursday. I've stuck with that for the most part. I'll retest this Fall and see if I made any gains. It was my understanding that once you got passed 40 all you could do is maintain.

Yea, definitely not true

False. Elite runners will usually be in the 70-80 range and cyclists ans cross country skiers even higher than that. I am a mid 16s 5k guy so 65-68 is nothing crazy.
For reference, my resting heart rate is 43 over the last year.
Kipchoge’s V02max is 78 and the highest ever recorded is 97.

If you find out let me know. Closest I've seen was Shreveport.

Just about every major university should be able to do this. Both UAB and Samford here in Birmingham can do it along with a number of gyms and lab type places.
This is the manufacturer on the VO2 testing equipment. They have a facility finder. Korr Equipment
