It’s the single biggest issue with Congress. Polls show people hate Congress but love their congressional representatives. It’s apparently fine if your congressional representatives frick over the country as long as they “bring home the bacon” to your state. It’s a sad and short sighted preference for being bought off with your own money with the long term outcome of destroying the country.
