It was our 30th anniversary. We started in Paris, went to Bayeux, back to Paris, Lyon and finally Nice. It was amazing. We trained everywhere once we landed in Paris.

Our tours we set up on our own or with our travel agent included
Louvre 2.5 hr
1 hr sunset Seine cruise, no dinner
Ticket up the Eiffel Tower
Day trip to Reims to tour Vueve Clicquot and smaller producers
Normandy beaches full day
Mont St Michel full day
Show at Moulin Rouge without dinner
Lyon wine tour, Cote Rotille half day
Half day from Nice to Eze, La Turbie and Monaco
Half day from Nice to Cannes, Antibes and St. Paul de Vence

We were on the go. We loved dining in smaller bistros and cafes. We had wine with every dinner and sometimes lunch. We only spent over $100 American on dinner once and that was at Le Train Bleu in Paris which I saw recommended here. I loved it, my wife thought it was only average. We had a true Lyon Bouchon experience for dinner there. Our favorite dinner was in old Nice at Chez Juliette.

I could have done without the half day tour to Cannes. Would have rather spent that extra time in Nice. Might have wanted more time in Monaco and skipped Eze and La Turbie.

Trains are awesome. Instead of taking a 2 hour car ride to Reims from Paris, the train gets you there in 46 minutes. Well worth the $40 euros each.

It was chilly. We didn’t get to 60 degrees until we got to Nice and there we topped out at 61. Normandy was in the 40s. We got spots of rain in Paris in our first two days, even some hail.

Saw 3 Notre Dame cathedrals - Paris (drive by) Reims, and Bayeux. We celebrated Mass in Bayeux and it was a packed house for first communion. Went to the church where Dom Perignon is buried in Reims and it’s over 1400 years old.

My wife got her shopping in on Rue St. Honore in Paris and in boutiques in Nice.

No travel delays, nice boutique hotels, and no sickness or bed bugs. Success all around.
