Demographics play a huge, I mean huge, part in those statistics rgarding crime.

Use whatever excuse you want but with Tokyo having 32 MILLION more people than Chicago, then compare the crime rates. We'll never see videos, across Japan, showing massive looting of stores, over & over again. My son has lived there going on 7 + years now & he, like 1000's of others, day in day out, simply parks his bike & leaves it unlocked. Alongside the 100's others. Japanese use their bus / subway systems everywhere, nite &day, & there have been zero muggings or other crimes committed in that system. He never sees bags of trash dumped in grocery store parking lots. Why?????

Pretty interesting in that if you look up Tokyo demographics, you find numbers that show age, industry and occupation.

ETA: Not much is found by race.
