Japan Demographics
Dictionary.com
On the surface, Japan seems to check all the boxes of being an ethnostate, but digging deeper, it looks like they get a pass for being Asian.

Ethnic groups - Japanese 97.9%, Chinese 0.6%, Korean 0.4%, other 1.1% (includes Vietnamese, Filipino, and Brazilian) (2017 est.)

TO answer to question succinctly, yes, Japan is nearly ethnically homogenous. The Japanese are also extremely racist to boot. Seems to work for them though so why force them to adapt? They do not like gaijin at all in their living space.

Just because white societies are committing suicide does not mean Japan needs to.

I am being told by the MSM that all ethnostates are evil and must be destroyed and remade into multi culti paradises like NYC, London, Paris, etc…
Why would the MSM lie?

Depends on who you ask.
White westerners view them all as Japanese but actual Japanese people see very different shades of skin among the population. I expect they would say no.

Certain tribes dislike other tribes of the same race. Welsh & Scots for example. That doesn’t award them an ethnic get out of jail free card. Japan is still 98% a country compromised of Japanese.

Recently talked to a friend who just visited there and he said it was the most friendly and beautiful place that he knows of. Trains were spot on time, squeaky clean with no crime or tensions on the street. Diversity is a strength depending on the character of those who mix into a society. Social engineering that mixes in people with heathen characteristics will negatively affect any relatively civilized society. Good intentions nws.

If this is how they choose to run their country, who are we to question it?
The statistics bearing out the way that they do in meeting the definition of an ethnostate is only a problem when viewed through the lens of that being wrong.

I wish the US would’ve adopted this model two hundred years ago.
I suppose melting pots can work in theory, but when one of the major two political parties subsides solely on pushing racist and otherwise divisive language, the result is a large quotient of this country ends up hating it and not taking care of it.
Maybe I’m cynical in my late 30s, but I think we’ve long since crossed the cultural Rubicon. Americans have become far too stupid, lazy, and entitled to understand or even care about what’s happening here.

Sounds like your friend is someone who notices things. Noticing is a pretty evil practice so I'm told.

The US was this way until 1965.
History.com
quote:
Changes Introduced by the Immigration Act of 1965 Among the key changes brought by the Hart-Celler Act: Quotas based on nation of origin were abolished. For the first time since the National Origins Quota system went into effect in 1921, national origin was no longer a barrier to immigration. “With the end of preferences for northern and western Europeans, immigrants were selected based on individual merit rather than race or national origin,” Chin says. “Accordingly, there were many more immigrants from Asia, Africa and other parts of the world which had traditionally been discriminated against.” The act also established new immigration policies that looked at reuniting families and giving priority to skilled laborers and professionals.
For you Eddie Money fans, great tune.

Not for much longer. They are about to increase immigration due to their low birth rate.

I'm in my 40's and over the last 5 years or so I have made about half a dozen trips to Europe. I have a similar attitude as you. I know Europe is no utopia and many of the large cities/countries face the same problems we have here- wokeness, social issues etc.
But to spend a week in Italy, Greece, Ireland et al, and then come home and see the people we deal with on a daily basis is so disheartening.
Whenever I see a video of a George Floyd protest, or a bunch of thots shutting down a street to twerk and do burnouts- I tell my wife "We didn't see that in Ireland did we??"
Japan is on our list as a country to visit soon and I am looking forward to the cleanliness, order, and efficiency it is known for.

I can see that possibility. Based on their history, do you believe they will just blindly open the flood gates for immigrants or use other metrics to increase their population?

No, they aren't and neither is South Korea. There are certain factions pushing them to but they are resisting and rightfully so. Japan and Korea will exist long after we will. We are destroying our own country by importing the very people that people want to infiltrate Japan and South Korea with.

I'm not sure Japanese women like anyone...hence their birth rates.

If they are smart, they will make it incredibly hard to qualify for immigration…like phDs and scientists only…but even then you’ll still have a lot of Indians etc that will be eligible. They should make it racial and restrict it to European whites
